Second Annual Barro’s Pizza Holiday Hunger Fight Raises $125,274.00 for St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance
Our Second Annual Barro’s Pizza Holiday Hunger Fight on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013. From open to close, all 33 Barro’s Pizza locations donated all proceeds from pizza, wings, salad, sub, dessert and drinks sales to St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance in effort to alleviate hunger in Phoenix during the holidays.
Last year Barro’s raised over $120,000 in just one day, which meant over 800,000 meals were provided to hungry families and valley residents. This year Barro’s raised even more with a total donation of $125,274.00, which equates to 876,918 meals. Just one large pizza ordered from Barro’s equaled 70 meals to those in need.
“We owe our success to our amazing customers and the Phoenix community as a whole. Without action, a dream is just a dream, and our customers really came through this year to make our dream of fighting hunger during the holidays a reality. It was humbling to see all the interaction and encouragement we received before December 3, during the Hunger Fight, and the days following. We’re looking forward to many years of fighting hunger in the valley, and helping St. Mary’s Food Bank continue to make miracles happen,” said Mike Barro, Co-Owner of Barro’s Pizza.
