Barro’s Pizza Awards Local Student with $10,000 for Second Annual Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway
The winner of the 2013 Arizona Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway, Kaylee Moats, was awarded $10,000 today by local and family owned pizzeria, Barro’s Pizza. Submissions were open to all Arizona residents and out of over 5,000 entries, the winner was randomly chosen to help fulfill future tuition debts.
Kaylee Moats is a student at Chandler Gilbert Community College and will be transferring to Northern Arizona University next semester.
With 33 locations valley wide, the Barro family prides themselves on community involvement and giving back to metro area residents.
“With the rising costs of tuition, more people are deciding to forgo a higher education in hopes to stay out of debt and start a career early. We are glad to have a nationally recognized brand like Dr Pepper as a partner as we help someone in Arizona achieve their educational goals without an overbearing debt load,” said Mike Barro, co-owner of Barro’s Pizza.
The program is part of the annual Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway, which awards more than $1 million in tuition prizes each year to students across the country. For more information on the Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway, visit www.drpeppertuition.com.
